Our philosophy

I founded Reputa to close a gap I kept meeting from every side of this market.

Firms are judged on their record: the filings, the tenders, what they honoured and what they disclosed. Allocators read it in diligence. Journalists read it before they write. Machines now read it before they answer. Yet most firms never read it themselves. They manage what they say, and call it reputation. Perception is how a firm is seen today. Reputation is who it is known to be over time, and reputation is what gets priced, at the fundraise and in diligence.

Reputa exists to read the record properly, and to fix what fails before the judges price it.

How we operate is systematic. The 360° Baseline reads a firm from its public record: share of voice, press perception, narrative consistency against its own filings, its digital and AI footprint, its live risk register and its relationships, and scores it out of 60 against best practice. AI does the gathering at scale. Senior counsel does the judgement. Then we guide the firm through the work, block by block, each block a fixed fee for a named result, no retainer, and we stay for the re-reading that proves whether it moved.

I have sat on all three sides of that record for over twenty years, and in every seat the work was private markets. I have lived and breathed this market: in newsrooms, in agencies, and inside asset management businesses, including communications for platforms controlling over $160 billion. The relationships are long-standing: Bloomberg, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, Reuters, CNBC.

Media relations, in this firm, is not a service bought in. It is my own practice, and the connections run on all three sides of the table: the journalists who write the record, the managers who live inside it, and the investors who price it. I know how each side reads, because I have sat in each seat. That is what the counsel adds. A reading only helps if the prescription knows how it will be received by every judge who matters, and an execution only works if the person placing the story is a person the journalist already trusts. Put together, the perspective is additive rather than decorative: it changes what a firm does, discloses and honours, not only what it says.

Reputation leads. Growth follows.

A word on the name

Reputa is the formal transition of the practice Craig Allen has run for many years as Allen & Associates: the same firm and the same systems, under the name the work has always carried.
